Karen Morgan is a commercial photographer whose work has an emphasis in people and animal portraiture.

She earned a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University where her visual arts background honed her love for photography. But her immense passion for animals, especially the relationship between people and dogs, started at a young age.

Her work conveys a sense of relaxed honesty capturing the many characters in life.

"I want my work to help people and animals; life is a journey of unexpected lessons, and I hope to create a few outstanding images along the way."

Currently residing in Chicago, Morgan has been ranked by Urban Hound as one of the best pet portraitists in the nation. She continues to donate her services to various animal rescue organizations as well as non-profit rehabilitation and homeless organizations.

Her most recent project, "Out of the Darkness," began this summer after working with The Healing Place in Richmond, VA. This facility is a non-profit recovery program rehabilitating those who have addictions and are homeless.

"Love your people, love your animals and try to be a good light in this world."
